BIOGRAPHY

Sona Lakhoyan Olivier was born in Beirut, Lebanon, to parents of Armenian origin. She later immigrated to Quebec at the age 15 with her family. Proud wife and mother of two daughters, she has been invested in helping those around her to flourish ever since a young age, leading her to take on a multitude of roles in her community.

She has found herself as the Elected School commissioner in the district of Chomedey, vice-president of the board of directors for the Cité de la Santé Hospital Foundation, and vice-president of the QLP's Chomedey Riding Association. Furthermore, she has always held a special place in her heart for sports, dedicating a major portion of her life to athletics. Beginning as a record-holding athlete and eventually becoming the president of the Armenian General Sports Union of Laval, she was the first woman to hold this post. The importance of physical activity is one that is extremely valued by our MNA.

Before fully dedicating herself to the political sphere, she worked for Casino de Montréal from 1993 to 2019 and later worked for Loto-Québec until 2022. August 8th of 2022, she won the nomination to represent the Quebec Liberal Party (QLP) at the provincial election of Quebec. On October 3rd, she was elected the member of the National Assembly representing Chomedey. Ever since, she has been honored to serve her citizens.
